The main attraction of the Al Gazzettino Venice hotel is its location; situated in Venice`s downtown, between S.Marco Square and Rialto Bridge. It is a short walk away from the exclusive Mercerie shopping street. This is a great traditional, family run hotel with comfortable guestrooms (note: no elevator).

The restaurant offers specialities of Venetian cuisine, both meat and fish. These typical Venetian dishes and also international cuisine are served at lunch and dinner in a finely furnished and characteristic dining room. The restaurant is decorated with old newspapers on the walls, photos of stars from the past century, and a valuable map of Venice.
In the XIX century the building was a textile workshop and it later became an inn for the turkish tradesman arriving in Venice for commercial deals with the Republic of Venice "the Serenissima". In 1887 the seat of the local newspaper "Il Gazzettino" was established in the building next door; that's how the name was founded.
The lobby is very small with a tiny reception desk, on the left there are the stairs that lead to the rooms.
Excellent standard for its category, fantastic location. Reccommended CQ 02/07
