The hotel's restuarant is rapidly gaining a reputation locally and across the wider Irish dining landscape as being at the forfront of Irish cuisine. The menu is designed by the hotel's executive chef and changes quite regularly, the staple dishes are all based on traditional Irish recipes and the majority of ingredients are locally sourced.
An exciting and authentic castle appearance with many original features reproduced faithfully. There is a large tower sat centrally in the main facade of the building and a wide pebbled drive and fountain directly in front.
The elegant lobby is medium sized and tiled in white marble. There are small snugs away from the main entrance where guests can settle to relax. There's a grand piano for those brave enough!
The hotel is a meticulously restored 17th century castle, but the roots of the property can be traced as far back as the 1400's. The current building was rebuilt after a fire in 1939 but has maintained many features, where ever possible, of the original design. (08/09 RT)
