The France Hotel is located in the heart of Amsterdam is close to Central Station and at the edge of the Red Light District. Rooms are small and basic though recently refurbished. It’s a good 3* option –we would recommend it if youre traveling on a budget.’

General

This hotel is in a prime location in the centre of Amsterdam and suitable for those who are looking to be close to the red light district and China town, one of the busier areas of Amsterdam. However, it is located on a small side street opposite a canal and so is quieter than most of the streets in the area. jg/07/2006

Lobby

The lobby is medium sized and was also renovated in 2006. It now benefits from a trendy feel, with brown carpeting, gold velour seating and modern lighting. There are also futuristic stools and tables giving this an updated and vastly improved atmosphere. The lobby is split level as there are steps up to the reception area so may not be ideal for people with walking difficulties.

Exterior

This is a traditional building in keeping with the buildings in the area and are typical Dutch style.

Restaurant

The breakfast room is located in the Irish pub directly next to the hotel. It is a popular and cosy eating establishment and serves a hearty breakfast. In the summer, there is seating along the canal.
