Located in the very heart of Amsterdam, overlooking one of its most beautiful canals, this hotel is within walking distance of Central Station, the flower market, the Rembrandtsplein and Amsterdams main shopping district as well as Amsterdams main tourist attractions. The bedrooms are all medium to large in size and as the name suggests, are even more deluxe than the standard rooms. As expected…

There are two restaurants in this hotel. One is a formal restaurant offering an a la carte menu in a romantic and luxurious setting. It also offers canal side seating when the weather is nice. The other is brasserie style. The hotels kitchen is fairly renowned and many boat trips will point out the hotel and its restaurant and kitchen as this can also be viewed from the canal.
This is a large and very impressive building and was seen in the film Oceans 12. As the kitchen is at water level, and as it is quite a famous kitchen, it features on many boat cruises as a place of interest.
The lobby is very large and impressive and very traditional. In fact, so traditional that it may appear old fashioned to some. There is a very large lounge area located behind the reception area and one can have a high tea here or a cocktail before heading to the restaurant. There are also impressive views of the canal from the large floor to ceiling windows.
This is a super deluxe property in the heart of Amsterdam which exudes grandeur and elegance. It has a perfect location in the city centre and on one of Amsterdams main canals and comes highly recommended. jg/11/2008
